C O -
Experts OWNER’S MANUAL
Model 2010
This C O
Monitor, Model 2010 is designed to provide the consumer with very, very early
warnings of the presence of Carbon Monoxide, thereby eliminating the PANIC and
the need for an immediate call to 911 for a trip to the hospital, and far too
often the need for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatment. This C O – Experts Low
Level C O “Health” Monitor is designed to put you IN CONTROL OF, ….. NOT AT THE
MERCY OF Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
C O – Experts
Low Level C O “Health” Monitor provides features ….. not offered by any other C
O alarm in the World. Designed to give you both audible & visual warnings
even earlier then the “Safety Levels” established by ACGIH [25ppm], NIOSH
[35ppm], and OHSA [50ppm]. [All 8 hr. TWA]. C O – Experts lets you know
IMMEDIATELY at 7 PPM, 25 PPM, 35 PPM, 50PPM, and the EXIT IMMEDIATELY WARNING at
70 to 100 PPM.
This Low-Level
Carbon Monoxide Monitor IS NOT a “Standard”, UL 2034, ULC, or CSA Listed C O
Alarm, and is not intended to replace the installation of such products, if
such a CO Alarm is REQUIRED by State or Local “By-Laws” that DO NOT contain a
“OR SUPERIOR Technology” Clause. If you live in such a location you may
need to install a cheap UL-Listed “Retail Grade” C O alarm also. Then install
one or more C O – Experts Low Level C O Monitors to provide the vital protection
that you need from Chronic Low Level C O Poisoning.
You may notice
that the Instructions in this Manual are quite different from those on the
retail grade C O alarms. Because C O – Experts provide very early warning, it
warns you long BEFORE you need to call 911 for a trip to the hospital.
WARNING: C O
Monitors / Alarms ARE NOT UL-Listed Smoke, Fire, or other GAS Detectors, and you
do need to obtain additional products designed for your Protection from these
Hazards. Your New Model 2010 Low Level C O “Health” Monitor WILL provide a very
good, fast responding additional detector in the case of a slow smoldering type
fire in your home or building.
This Low-Level
C O Monitor is designed to detect Very Low Levels of Carbon Monoxide from ANY
SOURCE but can do so ONLY after the C O enters the sensor; therefore, it may NOT
detect low-levels of Carbon Monoxide found in other areas of the property. You
may want to purchase additional Low-Level Monitors for other areas of your home
where you spend a lot of TIME. This Monitor is NOT designed to meet any present
marine, aircraft, or other established C O Standard except those of G. E. Kerr
Companies, Inc. and C O – Experts Model 2010.

slightly higher. If you like to have the “Option” of easily removing your
Monitor from its normal location on your wall to enable you to carry it easily
from room to room to AID YOU in locating the actual SOURCE of your LOW levels of
C O, you can use a small finishing nail, installed at a wall stud location, at a
slight angle to assure the Monitor will remain securely hanging on the wall when
not being removed for portable use.
Next, push,
[depress], the “TEST / HUSH / RESET” button to test your Monitor is functioning
properly.
You will hear
three cycles of four beeps each and the Display will automatically go through
the “Data Recall” sequence.

being protected by your Low-Level C O Monitor.
2. Where

The C O –
Experts Low-Level Monitor can be installed in any indoor, “Lived In” area, where
it can be both heard and seen visually on a regular basis. The Monitor should

truly afford to purchase only one C O Monitor, you MUST install it in your

it is within 15 feet of each bedroom doorway. It can be Installed on any INSIDE

older children can easily reach the “Test / Hush / Reset” button, and can easily
and clearly see the Monitor’s display window.
Additional
Low-Level Monitors should be installed in other areas of your home where you
spend a lot of time, or in other areas where there are possible sources of C O
being produced or expelled into the living areas; however, when doing so, follow
the Instructions in Sections #6 and #7 very closely.

CARBON MONOXIDE
SYMPTOMS
Any mix of the
following symptoms may be due to C O exposure, especially if chronic, or if it
is noticed by more than one person in the home or workplace at the same time:
Headache,
Fatigue, Nausea, Vomiting, Confusion, Memory Loss, Heart/Chest Pain, Rapid Heart
Beat, Rapid Breathing, Shortness of Breath, Changes in Vision, Hearing, Touch,
Taste, or Smell.
LOW-LEVEL C O
MONITORS ARE VITALLY / ESPECIALLY NEEDED IN THE HOMES OF ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
Pregnant Women,
Infants, Young Children, the Elderly, and people with Chronic Medical Conditions
such as Asthma, Bronchitis, Emphysema, Heart Disease or Anemia.
This Low -
Level C O Monitor will Display Levels of C O well below 30 PPM, [Standard C O
Alarms DO NOT], this will help Prevent Exposure to Potentially Dangerous Levels
of Carbon Monoxide.
DIGITAL DISPLAY
DATA RECALL FEATURES:
Prior to
activating the Monitor’s Data Recall function, the display will be constantly
displaying the Current level of C O present if it is 7 PPM or more.
After pushing
the "Test / Hush / Reset" button, the display window will display “Acc”, to
acknowledge your request for the stored data, the Display will then show "HI",
followed by the Highest CO in PPM recorded since the last time the Data Storage
was “Cleared” or the battery was disconnected.
Display then
displays "OCCUr", followed by the elapsed time in days, hours & minutes since
the peak reading exposure occurred. Display then displays "dur", followed again
by the Duration of the period of time that the elevated levels of C O existed in
the sensor, in days, hours & minutes. Monitor then displays "COHb" followed by
the % of Carboxyhemoglobin that would have accumulated in the blood stream of
the average person had they been exposed to the same level of C O for the same
period of time. Display then returns to display the level of CO present in the
sensor if it is 7 PPM or more. If C O Present is under 7 PPM, the Display will
show "000" PPM.
C O is almost
ALWAYS picked up by Monitors while being transported, from both the UPS Trucks
and especially from the Propane Forklifts being used in the terminals.
Therefore, there may be C O accumulated inside the housing and in the sensor
when it is initially removed from its individual box that will cause an alarm
within a minute or so of initially installing the battery. Before installing any
Monitor, the “Stored Data” should be electronically cleared.
To CLEAR /
ERASE all stored data, you simply depress the Test / Hush / Clear button, and
continue to hold it depressed until the Green L.E.D. illuminates with a
continuous, [not blinking], green light. Release the button, and the Monitor
will immediately sound a long single beep, and the LCD will display “Clr”,
indicating that all previously stored data has now been erased.

is employed, the audible alarm is silenced for the designated period of time:
however, the visual display continues to show the current level of C O present.
IF, after any "Hush", the C O levels present continue to rise to the next higher
level, the Monitor will automatically OVER-Ride the "Hush" and reactivate the
audible alarm at the higher, faster, level
To activate /
employ the “Hush” feature, as soon as the Monitor’s audible alarm warning cycle
competes the third of its 3 beeping cycles, simply touch / push the test / hush
/ reset button and the Display window will show “Acc”, to acknowledge your
request the “Hush” to be employed. The Monitor will then show “SIL”, to indicate
that AFTER the regular three cycle beeping, [which follows every push of the
“Test” button], is completed, your Monitor will be SILENT for the specified
period of time, unless the C O present rises to the next higher level of
warning. Removal of the battery will immediately cancel the “Hush” feature.
