Can it possibly be TRUE that a group of new, just purchased UL-2034 Listed C O alarms NEVER sounded an audible alarm when exposed to 358 PPM of C O Test Gas for 45 Minutes REALLY be meeting the UL-2034 Standard ?

UNFORTUNATELY, IT IS TRUE !

UL-2034 “TESTING” Requirements State that exposure to the following amounts of C O, for the specified periods of time, may be “Permitted” before they “MUST”  sound an audible alarm:

At 70 PPM ….. up to 240 MINUTES   [4 hours]

At 150 PPM …. UP TO 50 MINUTES

Final UL-2034 “TEST” is at 400 PPM, this “Highest Level” was not reached in this TEST.

This Test demonstration was conducted on January 19, 2011, using a just purchased new UL-2034 C O alarms, by a COSA (Carbon Monoxide Safety Association), C O Training Professional.
