VERY
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
When
you first unpack your Monitor to activate it, several IMPORTANT things need to
be considered.
1. Almost 100% of the time, the Monitors WILL pick up and retain C O in
the Housing and the sensor during transport, from the UPS trucks and especially
from the Propane Fork Lifts in the Transfer Terminals.
MONITORS
SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE BOX and set out to permit the C O to clear out
BEFORE you connect the battery. Then, after 30 to 60 minutes of exposure to
clean air, connect the battery. The display should show “ 0 “ PPM,. If it
doesn’t, disconnect the battery and wait another 30 to 60 minutes, then try
again.
AFTER
the display shows “ 0 “, you need to CLEAR the Stored Data.
Remember,
and emphasize to all of your people that the “CLR” function on your Monitor
is an INTERNAL ELECTRONIC CLEARING function ONLY. It does NOT REMOVE any C O
fumes that are still retained inside the Sensor or the Housing. Fanning the
Monitor , will usually clear out the fumes quickly, permitting the Display to
return to zero.
2.
After the Display has returned to zero, you need to ERASE the Stored Data which
would have been record. To successfully CLEAR the Monitor, the Monitor can NOT
be in an ALARM Mode, and you need to depress the “Test Button” keeping it
DEPRESSED CONTINUOUSLY until the Green L.E.D. Illuminates. Immediately
release the Test Button and the Monitor will sound a Long Single Beep, and the
Display will show “Clr” indicating that you have successfully Erases the old
stored data. Now when you push the Test Button to activate the test and the data
recall sequence, you should see all “ZEROES”.
When
your Monitor “Beeps” a SINGLE Beep, it has detected a PROBLEM in your
Monitor’s Operation, NOT Carbon Monoxide. A message will appear on the
display window of your Monitor telling you the type of problem detected.
When
your Monitor “Beeps” just ONE Beep, it has detected a PROBLEM in your
Monitor, ….. IT HAS NOT DETECTED Carbon Monoxide.
A
message will appear on the display window of your Monitor telling you the type
of problem detected in your Monitor.
1.
If battery needs to be replaced, display will show “bAT”.
2.
If you have an electronic or calibration problem the display will show
“Err”.
3.
If your Monitor has reached the end of its life, display will show “Sensor
End”, indicating it is time to get a NEW one.
When
CARBON MONOXIDE IS ACTUALLY DETECTED, ….. DO NOT PANIC. Your Monitor gives you
VERY EARLY WARNING, LONG BEFORE the level of C O is DEADLY.
When
your Monitor actually detects C O, as little as 7 parts per million, [ PPM ], it
will sound 3 series of 4 beeps,
[
beep, beep, beep, beep, … pause … beep, beep, beep, beep,… pause … beep,
beep, beep, beep, … repeated three times, once a minute. The higher the level
of C O present, the more Cycles of beeps per minute will be sounded.
Your
New Monitor has a “HUSH” feature which permits you to SILENCE the audible
alarm, (Beeping), while you decide what you need to do. To activate the
“HUSH”, you simply PUSH IN the “Test Button” ONE TIME.
If
the C O present climbs to 25PPM, the audible alarm will reactivate
automatically. If this happens, simply “Touch / Push” the Test / Hush Button
again to silence the alarm. Open your windows and call your heating contractor
to come immediately to locate the source of you C O problem.
If
after you have reactivated the “Hush / Silence”, the CO present continues to
Rise, the Monitor will once again automatically OVERRIDE the “Hush” and
sound the audible alarm again at the next higher level. If the level of CO
present rises to 90 PPM, Call 911, and exit your home IMMEDIATELY and move to
fresh air.
On
this Monitor, the “Test” button actually does 3 different, but important
jobs.
If
you are just “Testing” your Monitor or activating the Data Recall Sequence,
it will fully test the proper functioning of your Monitor and will display the
full “Time Lines” on the highest C O exposure recorded since you
“Cleared” the stored data.
If
your Monitor IS in the Warning Mode, a simple, touching of the Test Button will
HUSH / SILENCE” the audible alarm signal for the proper period of time. Then
if you want to ERASE the stored data, all you need to do is simply DEPRESS
the test button until the GREEN L.E.D. light is illuminated, then release the
Test Button and your Monitor will immediately sound a long single beep, and the
display will show “Clr”, to confirm that all of the old stored data has been
successfully erased.
