We
are suddenly experiencing a problem with a lot of the detectors. When we put
in the battery and run the test, the green power light does not ever come on.
The clients are unhappy with it because they can't tell the detector is
working. have you had this problem before? Is there a solution here or are
they defective?
Second
question for you...the display portion of the carbon monoxide monitor. Should it
always be a blank screen unless CO is present or it is running the test, or
unless it reads "bat" for low battery?

NO PROBLEM !
If there is EVER a Problem of ANY Kind with my
unit, it will :Chirp" a single Chirp once a minute, and the Digital
Display will say "ERR", "bAt", or Sensor End, ...
depending which type of problem it has.
Now, Specifically to your
Questions:
1. As indicated in the "Urgent
Information" Instructions on the Outside of the Box, when you first put
the battery in to "Activate the unit, it takes 60 minutes for the
unit & Sensor to properly "Warm-Up", and Re-Verify Calibration.
During this period, [which can Vary somewhat from unit to unit], the monitor
is essentially "Asleep". Normally, after 60 Minutes you can push the
Test Button and the unit will start to Function.
On a "Battery Powered" unit the Green
LED Light is NOT on Constantly, it "Flashes once a minute. [This Saves
Battery Power, and is true on ALL C O & Smoke Battery Powered Products].
Plug in units on the other hand, the Light is REQUIRED to be ON all the Time,
so you can tell when your "Electric Power" goes OFF.
2. The Digital Display remains "BLANK"
if the Level of C O Present is LESS than 5 ppm, [again to Save Battery
Power]..... if it is 5 ppm or MORE, it will Display the C O Level CONSTANTLY.
This Monitor takes a NEW READING EVERY 10 Seconds; therefore, the number being
Displayed "COULD" change Every 10 Seconds.
