Hi George, received the second CO-Experts Monitor today, I now have two in my own home and the 'demo' unit which I travel with.  I've been very impressed.

I was concerned that as sensitive as they are, there would be 'false' or 'nuisance' alarms when I put the first one up.  The first one has been up for about a year and absolutely no 'false' alarms - ever.  I've even put 100 ppm carbon monoxide calibration gas on it, from time to time, to make sure it is working.  Every time I've exposed it to calibration gas, it alarms in less than a minute.

In addition to protection from CO exposure, I wanted the second one in the event of a home fire.  I realize they are not 'approved' for home fire protection but I understand that 75% of the people who die in a fire don't die from burns, they die from CO (smoke) inhalation.  Given the fact that home smoke alarms do not respond well to slow, smoldering fires, common sense tells me your monitors will provide additional protection to my family.

The one I traveled with has alarmed on numerous occasions in the past three months.  Seven HVAC supply houses (from propane powered fork lifts) and twice in hotels.  One hotel in Columbus, Ohio alarmed and read 60 ppms due to (of all things) a propane powered floor buffer they were using in one of the large conference rooms.

I've also learned to stop 8 - 10 feet behind another automobile at a stop sign or traffic light, I regularly see 50 - 60 ppms.  Plus, I don't feel near as frustrated when I'm being 'tailgated'.  I know I'm poisoning the idiot following behind me!!

I also wanted to thank you for all the information you have provided.  It has raised my CO awareness level considerably.  Particularly with regards to the home alarm industry and issues.  Your passion for this industry and genuine concern to provide consumers with quality protection products are admirable.
