C O - Experts OWNER’S  MANUAL

CO – EXPERTS Model 2010 Low-Level CARBON MONOXIDE MONITOR

This C O Monitor is designed to provide the consumer with very, very early warnings of the presence of Carbon Monoxide, thereby eliminating the PANIC and the need for an immediate call to 911 for a trip to the hospital, and far too often the need for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatment. This C O – Experts Low Level C O “Health” Monitor is designed to put you IN CONTROL OF, ….. NOT AT THE MERCY OF Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.

C O – Experts Low Level C O “Health” Monitor provides features ….. not  offered by any other C O alarm in the World.  Designed to give you both audible & visual warnings even earlier then the “Safety Levels”  established by ACGIH [25ppm], NIOSH [35ppm], and OHSA [50ppm]. [All 8 hr. TWA]. C O – Experts lets you know IMMEDIATELY at 7 PPM, 25 PPM, 35 PPM, 50PPM, and the EXIT IMMEDIATELY WARNING at 70 to 100 PPM.

1. This Low-Level Carbon Monoxide Monitor IS NOT a “Standard”, UL 2034, ULC, or CSA Listed C O Alarm, and is not intended to replace  the installation of such products, if such a CO Alarm is REQUIRED by State or Local “By-Laws” that DO NOT contain a “OR SUPERIOR Technology” Clause.  If you live in such a location you may need to install a cheap UL-Listed “Retail Grade” C O alarm also. Then install one or more C O – Experts Low Level C O Monitors to provide the vital protection that you need from Chronic Low Level C O Poisoning.

2. You may notice that the Instructions in this Manual are quite different from those on the retail grade C O alarms. Because C O – Experts provide very early warning, it warns you long BEFORE you need to call 911 for a trip to the hospital.

3. WARNING: C O Monitors / Alarms ARE NOT UL-Listed Smoke, Fire, or other GAS Detectors, and you do need to obtain additional products designed for your Protection from these Hazards. Your New Model 2010 Low Level C O “Health” Monitor WILL provide a very good, fast responding additional detector in the case of a slow smoldering type fire in your home or building.

4. This Low-Level C O Monitor is designed to detect Very Low Levels of Carbon Monoxide from ANY SOURCE but can do so ONLY after the C O enters the sensor; therefore, it may NOT detect low-levels of Carbon Monoxide found in other areas of the property. You may want to purchase additional Low-Level Monitors for other areas of your home where you spend a lot of TIME. This Monitor is NOT designed to meet any present marine, aircraft, or other established C O Standard except those of G. E. Kerr Companies, Inc. and C O – Experts Model 2010.

Replace the connected battery inside the battery compartment with the connectors facing left, as you look at the Monitor directly from the front.

Snap the battery cover, [ door], closed. If you are concerned about a child or other person removing the battery for some other purpose, be sure to install the small screw provided to help deter such battery removal.

WARNING !!! ….. NEVER use a rechargeable battery.

Mounting Instructions:

After selecting the “Proper Mounting Location” as recommended in Sections 6 & 7, to “Wall Mount” your Monitor, you should screw the mounting screw into your selected location, leaving about ¼ inch of the end of the screw to mount your Monitor on, using the keyhole slot in the rear wall of your Monitor.  If you are installing a TAMPER PROOF type housing,  you must screw the mounting screw through the eyelet at the top-center of the Monitor and screw it into the wall stud at about “eye-level”, or slightly higher. Also, be sure to install the Tamper Proof screw into the cover on the battery compartment.

It can be Installed on any INSIDE WALL, mounted “Head High’, or slightly higher; however, be sure all adult and older children can easily reach the “Test / Hush / Reset” button, and can easily and clearly see the Monitor’s display window.

Additional Low-Level Monitors should be installed in other areas of your home where you spend a lot of time, or in other areas where there are possible sources of C O being produced or expelled into the living areas; however, when doing so, follow the Instructions in Sections #6 and #7 very closely.

Headache, Fatigue, Nausea, Vomiting, Confusion, Memory Loss, Heart/Chest Pain, Rapid Heart Beat, Rapid Breathing, Shortness of Breath, Changes in Vision, Hearing, Touch, Taste, or Smell.

This Low - Level C O Monitor will Display Levels of C O well below 30 PPM, [Standard C O Alarms DO NOT], this will help Prevent Exposure to Potentially Dangerous Levels of Carbon Monoxide.

DIGITAL DISPLAY DATA RECALL FEATURES:

Prior to activating the Monitor’s Data Recall function, the display will be constantly displaying the Current level of C O present if it is 7 PPM or more.

After pushing the "Test / Hush / Reset" button, the display window will display “Acc”, to acknowledge your request for the stored data,  the Display will then show "HI", followed by the Highest CO in PPM recorded since the last time the Data Storage was “Cleared” or the battery was disconnected.

Display then displays "OCCUr", followed by the elapsed time in days, hours & minutes since the  peak reading exposure occurred. Display then displays "dur", followed again by the Duration of the period of time that the elevated levels of C O existed in the sensor, in days, hours & minutes. Monitor then displays "COHb" followed by the % of Carboxyhemoglobin that would have accumulated in the blood stream of the average person had they been exposed to the same level of C O for the same period of time. Display then returns to display the level of CO present in the sensor if it is 7 PPM or more. If C O Present is under 7 PPM, the Display will show "000" PPM.

TO clear  the stored data simply hold the Test / Hush / Reset  button down continuously, while CLOSELY watching the Green L.E.D., Immediately release the button when the Green L.E.D. illuminates. You will immediately hear a long single beep and the Display will show “CLr”, telling you that you have successfully ERASED the old stored data, and the next time you test  your stored data, you will be seeing any NEW stored data recorded between this test and your next test.
