Thank you for the prompt shipment of three Model 2002 CO monitors. They arrived in apparent good shape.

I have read the owners manual, I have read your web site, but I'm sorry to say I still have questions.

 

On page one of the packaged owners manual item # 1 there is a sentence: "strongly recommend the installation of two or more CSA-6.19-2001 listed carbon monoxide alarms"

 

After reading the information, why would we want those alarms? Is this some "lawyer -ese" you had to put in the instructions?  Everything I have read has convinced me your monitor does a better job, why would you strongly recommend we install a product you ( and your web site links) talked me out of using?

 

Also, why isn't this recommendation on your web site, or in your brochure? Perhaps it is and I didn't see it?

 

I feel like I'm missing the point somewhere?

 

Our department here at the University is responsible for many homes, and other buildings that should have CO monitoring. Currently we have none. We want to find the best product for our peoples safety, and then use it.

 UL. CSA. listings are not what we are interested in, quality, and safety are what drew us to your product.

I put that Statement in for TWO Reasons:

 

1. A number of Areas in our Nation, have, UNFORTUNATELY, ... already written Mandatory Requirements to install CO Alarms that are Listed to UL-2034. A SMALL Number of UL-2034 Listed CO Alarms, are ALSO Listed to CSA-6.19-99, or CSA-6.19-01. These are The ONLY C O Alarms that are built to a "Standard" that REQUIRES "Time of Manufacture", and "Lifetime Reliability" Testing.

 

Therefore, IF a person is "REQUIRED" to buy a "LISTED" CO Alarm, .... even though it is NOT what I Believe is REALLY NEEDED, ... by buying one Listed to CSA 6-19-99, or CSA 6-19-01, ... it is AT LEAST, going to be a Better bet for Reliability over a 3 year period.  *Note: that I say: "CSA Listed, ..... NOT UL-Listed"

 

2. There are many homes that actually need 4 or more CO Detection Units in Various Key Locations, and some of these people will think that they can NOT AFFORD to purchase that many of my Monitors. Therefore, I want to make sure, [as best I can], that they Look for a CSA Listed CO Alarm, ... not just ANY UL-Listed unit.

My Monitor is, WITHOUT QUESTION, the Most Accurate, Reliable, Repeatable, ... Most Fully Self-Monitored Product, with the Greatest amount of Data Recall Capability on the Market Today. ..... and THAT is why it Costs More.
